BIO
Award
winning guitarist and songwriter, humorous story
teller and traveling troubadour, Dana Hubbard
brings a great deal to his shows. In the early
2000s, he hit the road as a touring solo
singer/songwriter where he traveled the festival
circuit, winning many of their competitions
along with opening shows and sharing the stage
with the artists he admired, covering everything
from Folk to Blues to Bluegrass. Prior to that,
he spent his dues paying years in the 80s and
90s leading his band, the Delta Twisters in the
thriving blues scene on the west coast where he
played with some of the top talent of that time.
Born and raised on the Central Coast of
California, Dana attended UC Santa Cruz only
long enough to finish an elective course on
country blues, then hit the road and never
looked back. He busked the streets of Berkeley
and San Francisco and eventually put together
his own band playing clubs, juke-joints &
biker-bars, moving into bigger venues where he
opened shows for legends like Albert King, James
Cotton, Etta James, leading to opening slots for
Chris Isaak, Greg Allman, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray
and more. (see full list above).
He's garnered top honors at venues like the
Telluride Blues Festival and won national and
international songwriting competitions. His
extensive performing experience coupled with
award winning songwriting and stellar guitar
playing creates a show that's deeply
entertaining. Along with stories from the road,
he'll even throw in some eye-popping harmonica
too!
